The Deca-Core Helio X20 processor has been recently officially announced by the MediaTek in an event which took place in China. Though it was rumored in the past days that the upcoming flagship smartphone Meizu PRO 6 may be powered by Samsung Exynos 8870 SoC processor, in this event Yongxiang BAI, the CEO of Meizu & Jeffrey Ju, the Vice President & Co-COO of MediaTek has confirmed that this smartphone will be powered by Deca-Core Helio X25 processor.
Having the same architecture as the Helio X20, the Helio X25 processor consists of 4 power efficient ARM Cortex A53 cores, 2 Cortex A72 performance cores & 4 Cortex A53 cores. The chip has enough capability to provide processing speed up to 2.5GHz whereas the the Mali-T880MP4 GPU will also provide increased clock speed up to 850 MHz. Though the clock speed of the Helio X25 processor is higher but it will consume same amount of power as the Helio X20 processor.
The Helio X20 processor comprises of two ARM Cortex A72 CPUs clocked at 2.3GHz, four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.4GHz & another four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 2GHz. Being equipped with Mali GPU of 780MHz processing speed, it will surely support up to dual 25MP ISPs, up to WQXGA 2560×1600 displays & Pump Express+ 3.0 fast charging too.
The shipping of the Helio X20 to the OEMs has already been started. The Zopo Speed 8 will be the first smartphone which consists of SoC. Though the official launching date of the Meizu PRO 6 has not yet been confirmed, we have to wait till the announcement for the further update in this regard.
